the fix, from another site

 1. Need to have “On extraction, start external compressor queued in the background” (Use 1) checked located in EAC Options->Tools.
 2. Check “Make all compression tasks sleep” located in Database-> Compression Queue Control Center
 3. Rip the songs
 4. after you are done ripping all the songs, goto Database-> Compression Queue Control Center, uncheck “Make all compression tasks sleep” and press OK….it will start compressing the songs you ripped

I have the same problem as Patrick. There is no error message or pop up; the program just waits for the window to be closed before converting the next file.

I'm running the 32 bit software in a 64 bit OS.

Regards, Gordon

Daniel,
Sorry, I've never heard of that problem. I don't even have a guess as to what could be causing that. Does the conversion window say anything when it is done? An error message or "Press a key to continue" or something like that?

Hi!

I don't know if this will ever be answered...

I configured EAC just the way you did. Everything is working fine. However, when I begin converting my wav files to wma (by unchecking the sleep option), I must manually close the conversion pop-up in order that the next task begins (i.e.: I must close myself the pop-up of the conversation of track 1 before the conversation of track 2 would begin).

The situation is the same when I don't use this "queue" configuration... Any ideas?

Thank you,
Daniel

Hello,
thanks for sharing this. I'm using XP64 with French interface. Following the same path as you, I finally had to install the 32bit English version of WME9, because the French version does not want to be installed on a 64bit OS.
HTH non-English users,
Alex.

Kimble, thanks for the comment. I didn't have any trouble installing WME 9 on Vista x64. I just downloaded the installer and it ran perfectly the first time. Are you sure you have the correct version of the installer? Microsoft's website says that WME9 supports Vista so it should just work.

I got the download from here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx. Just make sure that you install the x86 version even if your OS is x64.

Hi,

thanks for the usefull information.

But how did You manage to install WME 9 x86 on Vista x64. When I start the Installation I get a Message that WME is just for W2K and XP.

So I'm interested to hear, how You managed this.

Regards
